Review the fоllоwing аbstrаcts. Select which type оf evidence is best described in the аbstract below. Background: Postpartum depression (PPD) affects approximately 15% of birthing individuals and is associated with adverse maternal and infant outcomes. Despite its prevalence, screening and treatment practices remain inconsistent across primary care and community health settings. Methods: A multidisciplinary panel of nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, obstetricians, and patient advocates conducted a systematic review of literature published between 2010 and 2023. Evidence was appraised using the GRADE framework, and recommendations were developed through consensus-based Delphi rounds. Results: We recommend universal screening for PPD at 4–6 weeks postpartum using validated tools (e.g., EPDS, PHQ-9). For individuals with mild-to-moderate symptoms, first-line interventions include nurse-delivered psychoeducation, peer support groups, and referral to cognitive-behavioral therapy. Pharmacologic treatment is recommended for moderate-to-severe cases, with SSRIs identified as the safest first-line agents during lactation. Implementation strategies emphasize interprofessional collaboration, culturally responsive care, and integration of screening into routine well-child visits. Conclusion: Our findings support evidence-based, nurse-driven recommendations for the screening, diagnosis, and management of PPD. Adoption of these guidelines may improve detection rates, reduce stigma, and enhance maternal-infant outcomes.
