Upon further discussion he told his doctor that he had a family history of bladder stones. He also told his doctor he had recently increased his milk intake, and started taking both a vitamin D and a calcium supplement, to avoid osteoporosis. The doctor suspected a calcium oxalate bladder stone and ordered blood work to test his blood calcium levels. Describe the process of calcium regulation in the body.
