Clearly as a phenomenon it has wider applications. How does W. E. B. Du Bois's concept of double consciousness express itself in both Rankine's Citizen and Olivarez's Citizen Illegal? In your introduction you will want to define the concept of double consciousness and introduce the two works while having a thesis that directly addresses the question above. Spend your first body paragraph discussing the importance of the concept to Citizen, your second body paragraph applying the idea to Citizen Illegal, and your final body paragraph highlighting the difference between the two.
