Alan went to a clinic where a biopsy that revealed squamous cell cancer of the tongue. Alan has undergone radiation therapy (RT) and surgery to remove the cancer and a restorative surgery is scheduled. Due to RT, Alan has developed mucositis and xerostomia in his mouth. No metastasis was found and the surgeon was confident all cancer had been removed.
