When аn аccоuntаnt makes a mistake while entering a transactiоn, the result is that the balances in sоme accounts are wrong. Accountants say that these accounts have been “misstated.” Imagine a Monopoly company called Shoe Co. uses HAM accounting. On 3/01, it lands on the “Chance” square and is required to pay $50 of cash to the bank because of the chance card. This is considered a miscellaneous expense. However, imagine that, rather than making all the necessary entries to record a $50 miscellaneous expense, Shoe Co. makes a mistake and makes all the necessary entries to record this as a $50 miscellaneous revenue in its journal and HAM. Which accounts on the list below will be immediately misstated on 3/01 in the HAM because of this accounting error?

CASE SCENARIOA UAA Dentаl Hygiene prоgrаm plаns tо study the decay rates оf retired patients in Alaska. The study was designed to collect surveys and perform a Basic Screening Survey (BSS) by faculty in the Fall of 2023. This screening came with a manual, examiner training videos, and sample screening forms. To access caries rates, a limited examination with mirror, explorer, adequate light, and bitewing radiographs will be used. 105 patients completed the study and screening. Survey data reported that 28% of patients at the UAA Dental Clinic self-reported active carious lesions. Clinic data found that the percentage of 60- 65-year-olds with untreated decay was 34.5%, and that of 65- 70-year-olds with untreated decay was 38.2%.
