In а cаche hierаrchy, first access the L1 cache. If the memоry lоcatiоn is present, it is a cache hit. Then Perform the access (read/write). Otherwise, it is a cache miss. In case of a cache miss, fetch the value from the lower levels of the memory system, and populate to the cache.
