At that point, Marvin convinced Ted to help him with the burglary of Liza Jane's residence. They both were arrested that night as they were leaving the scene of the burglary. The punishment range for the offense is 2-20 years in prison. The judge has sentenced Marvin to ten years in prison. In sentencing Ted, the judge announced in court that both Marvin and Ted committed the same offense and that equity and fairness demanded that both defendants receive the same punishment, so she sentenced Ted to ten years in prison.
