Explain also how you will enhance your construct definition and/or operationalizations. Given that he or she has not provided details on how they don’t map to each other, you need to be careful and thorough in your response defending and justifying each change to make the internal consistency of the paper utterly obvious to the AE. Describe how you will present evidence of the validity of your measures. Do not take anything for granted. Or, if you choose to disagree and argue, please explain in detail why you disagree with the AE’s premise that the construct definition and operationalizations are internally inconsistent. What evidence do you need to present that they are consistently capturing the construct you define? This cannot just be your general opinion, make sure to provide convincing argumentation and ideally describe how you would present empirical evidence. Realize also that in this persuasive attempt, you are “selling” not only to the AE, but also to the review team and Editor in Chief.
