Scenаriо Overview: Yоu аnd yоur pаrtner, both AEMTs, are dispatched to a residence for a 45-year-old male patient who is experiencing severe shortness of breath. The patient has a history of COPD and is currently on home oxygen therapy. Upon arrival, the patient is in respiratory distress, with labored breathing and cyanosis. The patient is conscious but unable to speak in full sentences and is visibly fatigued from the effort to breathe. You must initiate airway management interventions and prepare for possible advanced airway procedures.  On Scene: You arrive on scene and immediately assess the patient. The patient’s respiratory rate is 32 breaths per minute, oxygen saturation is 82% on home oxygen, and there are audible wheezes on auscultation. The patient appears to be in respiratory failure and is becoming lethargic. What is your FIRST priority in managing this patient?
