The purpose of this practice quiz is to help you acclimate to the Honorlock proctoring system. Even if you already feel comfortable using Honorlock for tests in Blackboard, just humor me and complete this little 4-question required quiz. It doesn't count for a grade, but it WILL let me know that you understand how Honorlock works and that you understand the Honorlock requirements for *this* class. (And--you MUST complete this quiz in order to gain access to the other 2 quizzes that *are* for a grade in this module.) To get started, you will need Google Chrome and download the (LINK) Honorlock Chrome Extension. How Honorlock Works: When a Quiz is open, you should see the Honorlock tool bar at the bottom of your screen. You can expect to see this on all Quizzes proctored by Honorlock. This ensures that Honorlock can accurately proctor your assessment. In addition, you'll be able to preview your webcam capture and minimize it back to the tool bar. You won't need to display it over your assessment, so feel comfortable minimizing it to the tool bar so that it doesn't distract you. Clicking "Launch Proctoring" will begin the Honorlock authentication process, where you will take a picture of yourself. (Taking a picture of yourself is how I know that YOU, the registered student, is the one taking the test.) During the authentication steps, you will be prompted to complete a room scan. This is a test taker authentication step in which you will be asked to perform a 360-degree scan of your environment with the computer or webcam to confirm the integrity of the testing environment. (This is how I'll know that you don't have any hidden devices/doing anything that may call into question your Academic Integrity) Throughout the entirety of every Quiz, Honorlock will be recording your test session through your webcam and microphone and recording your screen. Honorlock also has an integrity algorithm that can detect search-engine use and opening additional browser tabs, so please do not attempt to search for answers outside the resources I allow, even if it's on a secondary device. DIRECTIONS: The following Requirements will apply to ALL QUIZZES for the semester: A working webcam will be required in connection with using Honorlock for ALL Quizzes. Students MUST agree to Honorlock’s Data Collection & Use terms and allow Honorlock to access their webcam and microphone for each quiz. During the Quiz Students MUST secure a quiet, distraction free space to take their Quiz. This includes: a private (non-public) space no background or ambient noise no other people in the space no headphones/earbuds no hats NO PHONES, no secondary laptops/tablets/monitors, or other tech devices once the Quiz starts, students are not allowed to pause the quiz or leave the space, and restroom breaks are not allowed.
