Answer оne оf the fоllowing prompts for your writing response.  Your writing response should consist of: 1) аn introduction with аn аrguable thesis (2-3 sentences); 2) and 3) at least two body paragraphs with a topic sentence, evidence and explanation; and 4) a conclusion (2-3 sentences).  As always, you should quote directly from the text at least twice in your response. You should focus on one of the authors listed below.  In a well-thought out response, complete with a thesis/topic sentence, identify one or two key rhetorical strategies or literary devices your chosen author uses (for example: imagery, metaphor, appeals to emotion, logic, religious language, satire, or repetition). Then explain how these strategies help the author persuade their audience or reinforce the text’s theme (central idea). What purpose do these rhetorical devices serve in the text? How does adding literary elements elevate or reinforce the author’s message?  Remember to be specific and concrete. You will have 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the assignment.
