Pleаse nоte thаt this questiоn cоnsists of six pаrts. You may use MINITAB to find a final answer. However you MUST show all the mathematical work to get to the final answer. Just giving the answer without adequate work/explanation may result in zero for the question.  A university wants to compare the proportion of graduate students and undergraduate students who had an internship last summer. A random sample of 200 undergraduate students and 85 graduate students was surveyed. Among the 200 undergraduate students, 102 reported having an internship. And among the 85 graduate students, 50 reported having an internship. Give a point estimate for the difference in population proportions of undergraduate and graduate students who had an internship.  Set up appropriate null and alternative hypothesis for testing if the population proportion of undergraduate students who had an internship is lower than the population proportion of graduate students who had an internship.  What conditions need to be satisfied in order for you to continue with the hypothesis test in part 2? Are they satisfied? Calculate the test statistic for the test you set up in part 2. You may use MINITAB to get the final test statistic. However, you need to show the mathematical calculation that resulted in the final answer. Give the rejection region for this problem. Use 5% significance level. Write the final conclusion in the context of the problem.

1. Prepаre fоr the Exаm. Dаte and Time оf Exam:  The exam must be taken at the date and time indicated in the cоurse Syllabus and must be completed by the due date / due time indicated in the course syllabus. What you ARE allowed to use during the exam: 1) You are required to use Respondus Lockdown Browser.  Instructions for accessing and using this browser are found under Exams (main menu in the course in Blackboard) and are also found on UND's website.   2) You are allowed to use Blackboard, but only to access this exam. 3) You are allowed to use one single page of hand written formulas as a reference during the exam. What you are NOT allowed to use during the exam: 1) You are not allowed to use any other parts of Blackboard during the exam.  For example, you must not access lecture notes, slides, recorded lectures, spreadsheets, or any other information on Blackboard, other than the exam. 2) Any customized or self-programmed formulas in Excel.  If you are using Excel, you must open and only use a blank spreadsheet.  3) You are NOT allowed to use any other computer software 4) you are NOT allowed to use any other electronic devices while taking this exam (This means that you are not allowed to use cell phones, other communications devices, etc.) 5) You are not allowed to use any notes, books or other reference materials other than the one page of handwritten formulas.  Printed or electronically copied (e.g. photo copied) formulas sheets are not allowed.  Formula sheets must not include worked out examples - they must contain only formulas. Things to keep in mind: If you are asked to type in a number to answer a question, do NOT use a "," as a thousands separator.  For example, type 1002 not 1,002 If your answer is a number that involves numbers/digits on the right side of a decimal point, then round-off your final calculation to four digits and enter all four digits unless instructed otherwise.  For example, type 3.2015 if the result of you calculation was 3.20149 Save your answers often, in case there is technical problem with the exam.  Contact the professor/instructor by immediately if you are prevented from completing the exam for any reason.
