Lаst yeаr, I (Jason) was asking for systems of the body that should have been screened with either physical assessments or appropriate questions or both. One student indicated the "system" of the "foot". I had to reflect on that a bit, and decided that "the foot" is a very valuable "appendage" (albeit not a system) to examine because of all the body systems that are involved in making a foot do everything it needs to do. I felt that the immune, integumentary, endocrine, cardiovascular, lympatic, hematologic, respiratory, hepatic, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, musculoskeletal, and nervous system pathologies can be picked up by having the patient take off their shoes and examine "the foot". So, can you think of a disease that may manifest itself in the foot. Pick 2 systems and describe a scenario where a more systemic disease may manifest itself in the foot. If every systems gets covered with your class with some decent answers, this question may be worth up to 5 bonus points as a group.
