Reаd the Live аnd Leаrn with Dr. Beth Frates stоry оn pages 289-290 related tо her patient who realized he was stress eating. Together they (the patient and Dr. Frates) created a goal (losing a few extra pounds), came up with an action plan (following a plant-based eating program and taking walks after dinner). He did well for a while, then had some mishaps (he ate everything in the fridge, including the cookies). Dr. Frates acknowledged his “stress-eating” and together they came up with a new game plan to help prevent, or delay the occurrence of future “stress eating” situations (removed desserts and treats from his home). Describe a time when you’ve come up with a goal, created an action plan, then came upon a barrier or two. Were you able to recognize the barrier/s that prevented you from reaching your goal? Were you able to come up with an alternative or an adjusted action plan to go around the barrier? If this situation does not apply to you personally, describe a similar occurrence of a friend or family member. 6 points
