Per your evaluation, she presents with mild Broca’s aphasia characterized by halting, effortful speech; agrammatic output with verb conjugation errors and omission of closed class words; mildly impaired auditory comprehension; and concomitant alexia and agraphia consistent with auditory comprehension and verbal expression impairments. During the evaluation, Mrs. A.’s partner repeatedly interrupted, at one point saying “she can’t answer those questions. Don’t bother asking that.” Mrs. A.’s partner reported that since returning home from the hospital, Mrs. A. has been withdrawn and has declined social invitations from old friends.
