Cаse Study Refer tо this cаse study fоr the fоllowing questions:  Mr. Jones is а 65 year old retired factory worker. He calls your office one week after his  4-month recall appointment to complain of pain and discomfort on the lower left.   He reports that his mouth has been sore since he had his teeth cleaned and states that he has never had that woman before. Mr. Jones” medical history indicates that he has rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure, and has had a knee replaced 6-months ago. He takes one aspirin a day, blood pressure and rheumatoid arthritis medication, and amoxicillin for a sinus infection. He is allergic to sulfur.    Mr. Jones’ dental history consists of: full cast metal crowns on all mandibular molars. three surface amalgam restorations on the maxillary molars with an overhang on one surface of each maxillary molar. two surface amalgam restorations on all premolars. two surface composite restorations on the anterior teeth.   The clinical evaluation reveals probing depths of 1-4 mm in the anterior areas and 6-7 mm depths on the maxillary posterior molars. The maxillary molars have moderate bone loss, slight mobility and grade one furcations on the facial surfaces. The maxillary 2nd molars have 2mm of recession on the facial surface. The tissue appears generally red with moderate interproximal plaque. Mr. Jones uses an electric toothbrush 2x/day but does not floss.
