However, provide children with factual information about what has happened in simple and direct language •        Post disaster social support is essential.  Parents should be encouraged to provide a verbal and physical presence and attention, disaster workers should keep families united, if possible •        Include children in recovery activities as is age appropriate •        Create (and practice) a family disaster preparedness plan for the future
