TN Dept of Treasury (3025) The Planet (state) of Tennessee enacts the “Starfleet Tax Act,” a planetary-level income tax on federal retirement benefits. Jean-Luc Picard retires from the Federal Starfleet and is surprised when he gets a tax bill from the planet of Tennessee for his retirement benefits. He has a friend who retired from the Tennessee Planetary Waste Treatment plant, and his friend isn’t being taxed. Apparently, Tennessee added a provision in the new tax code that exempts Tennessee Planet employees from paying the tax on their retirement funds. Picard is pissed. He sues.
