A fаther brings his 3 yeаr оld child tо the Urgent Cаre setting with a 4 hоur history of foreign body ingestion. The father reports he was cleaning out the "junk drawer" while his 3 year old was playing in close proximity to him. He reports the child came over and said "I ate something off the floor Daddy" The father is concerned the child may have swallowed something out of the "junk drawer".  On inspection you note a healthy appearing 3 year old who is tearful and clinging to her dad. You ask the child if she ate something off the floor and she nods her head "yes". After performing a primary survey, you order an AP and lateral x-rays of the neck and chest. On assessment of the films, you note a small round object sitting in the upper esophagus. As the APRN, what would be your next step in treatment of this child?
