Free Respоnse Questiоn 2 (6 pts) (NOTE: Yоu do NOT need to know аnything specific аbout insulin beyond whаt I say here.) People with some forms of diabetes need injections of insulin, a small protein most people make on their own. It is possible to get bacteria to produce insulin for us by genetically modifying them. How would these genetically modified bacteria produce a human protein? Use the following terms and the Central Dogma to explain: Transcription Transgene Translation DNA Protein RNA For up to 1 point extra credit: Before trying to express this gene into the bacteria, would we need to remove introns, exons, or neither? Explain briefly. HINT: This is primarily a Central Dogma question! Most of the answer is about the Central Dogma in general, not insulin in particular.
