Fоr mоnths, Pоlly Purebred hаs suspected her husbаnd Percy of hаving an affair.  Polly is particularly suspicious and jealous of Percy’s young secretary, Sally Slattern.  Sally, an unmarried woman, is pregnant.  One day Polly’s friend Trish Tattletale telephones and says to Polly, “About an hour ago I saw Percy and Sally having lunch at the Harbor Tavern.  They were eating oysters, and you should have seen the looks they were giving each other!  Oh my!  I think you are right about them.” Enraged, Polly goes to Percy’s gun cabinet and removes one of his shotguns.  She loads the gun, and jumps in her car to drive down to Percy’s office, not sure what she intends to do when she gets there.  During the fifteen minute drive, she grows angrier with Percy and Sally.  When she arrives at the office, she walks in the back door.  Sally looks up and says “Hi, Mrs. Purebred.”  Polly raises the gun and fires both barrels at Sally, killing her (and her unborn child) instantly.  Polly then reloads, goes into Percy’s office and shoots him in the face.  Percy lingers in a coma for two years, when his brain activity suddenly ceases and he is pronounced dead. You are the prosecutor.  What charges will you file and why?  What issues do you expect Polly to raise in her defense?
