Essаy Questiоn - Lifespаn Develоpment Yоur score on this essаy will be recorded separately from your exam score. Be sure to follow the instructions on what to include in each paragraph. Paragraph 1: Describe (4 pts) Identify something that you enjoyed doing at some time when you were younger. This could be a toy, a game, an activity, or a subject in school. Choose an activity you spent time doing repeatedly, not something you only tried once. Clearly describe the activity and the age at which you spent time doing it. Paragraph 2: Explain (8 pts) Identify one Person (internal) variable and one Environmental (external) variable that explain why you liked this activity. Clearly label which is the Person variable and which is the Environmental variable. Explain how each contributed to your enjoyment of the activity. Paragraph 3: Vocabulary application (6 pts) Apply vocabulary terms that explain how physical, cognitive, and/or social development played a role in why you enjoyed this activity. You need to use at least three terms drawn from at least two different developmental domains (physical, cognitive, and/or social development). For each term, do three things: (a) name the term and put it in bold font, (b) explain it briefly in your own words, and (c) apply it clearly to your example. Tips: Aim for 3-5 sentences per paragraph. Focus on correct application of course concepts and explanation. Minor grammatical or spelling errors will not result in deductions unless they interfere with meaning. When selecting vocabulary terms, demonstrate depth of understanding of Chapter 2 content. Each term should be explained in your own words and clearly applied to the activity. To earn the most credit, use the most specific term that is relevant. (As an example, egocentrism is more specific than Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development. Note that this example is for illustration only, not a suggested or required term).
