ATTACH A WORD FILE WITH YOUR RESPONSE TO THE FOLLOWING: Written Assignment 1 оn Kаte Chоpin's "The Stоry of An Hour" Assignment Instructions, on Kаte Chopin's "The Story of аn Hour." You can find this on pages 605-607 in our Norton Anthology of Literature Book (yes, you must use this version, the 15 EDITION and cite from it). This book is mandatory for the class; do not submit any work requiring texts without using it. Step 1: before completing this assignment, make sure that you have reviewed BOTH Week 1 videos. One is general and the other more specific (for what to read, etc.). There may be an additional video on Kate Chopin that will also help. Step 2: Prepare your writing very carefully ahead of time. Important guidelines (please apply these carefully): even though this is week 1, you must follow these guidelines: (1) no use of outside sources, including A.I. (Grammarly, ChatGPT, etc.), internet, other people, etc. (2) start with a main idea/ main point in sentence 1. (3) support it thoroughly with analysis and do not summarize the plot ("what happened in the story"), (4) quote in the middle at least two (2) times and you must use MLA style. This includes use of parenthetical citation (author and page) as well as signal phrases and correct punctuation. (5) conclude. This is all in one (1) single 1-2 paragraph submission. Label upper left, title, and attach as a Word file. Step 3 | Submit Your Work as an attached Microsoft Word file. No PDFs, Google docs, SharePoint, hyperlinks, etc. Just select INSERT, then attach the document. If this does not work, you can just type in the text. Once you have completed the activity, follow the directions below to submit your assignment. Select the Start Assignment button to begin the assignment submission. Locate and upload the activity from your computer, mobile device, Google Drive, or Office 365. Click the Submit Assignment button.
