The exаm is а CLOSED bооk.  Nо books аre allowed on or near your person. You are allowed to have ONE PIECE OF PAPER during the exam, no bigger than 8.5 x 11. You can HAND-WRITE NOTES on both sides of the paper but make sure to leave some blank space to use as scratch paper. No typed or reproduced notes will be allowed.  The contents of the notes page must be shown on the recordings, see below.   Calculators allowed include: SIMPLE 4-FUNCTION CALCULATORS only (add, subtract, multiply, and divide and memory keys). No financial, scientific, statistical or programmable calculators. If you do not have one please buy yourself a $5 simple calculator. The on-screen calculator provided by Honorlock. The calculator has to be shown on the recording, see below.   No bathroom breaks are permitted. Please make sure to use the restroom before commencing the exam.   During the exam you will be presented with questions one-at-a-time but you can go back to any question at any time. If you skip a question, make a note of the question number so you can go back to it quickly.   About Honorlock   Exam needs to be taken on a laptop or desktop computer only. The exam cannot be taken on a tablet. Cellphones, smartwatches and tables are prohibited, meaning that they cannot be on or near your person during the exam: not on your workspace, not on your lap, not on the floor under your chair, not within arm’s length, etc.  Accessing any website (e.g. Google, MyLab, ChatGPT) is prohibited and will be locked down by the browser and inaccessible. No programs or apps can be opened during the exam. That is, no Excel, Numbers, Word, Powerpoint or any other website/program/app.    You will be required to perform a 360-degree room scan including clearly showing the contents of your workspace. During the room scan, note the following: Your workspace should only include a simple calculator, one piece of paper, pencils and erasers. Hold the reference sheet paper up to the webcam during the room scan and turn it over so the image of both sides of the paper are captured. Hold the calculator up as well. If you do not have a desk and you will be taking the exam sitting on your bed, please make sure that the room scan shows the contents on your lap and surrounding bed area.   NOTE: The Honorlock recording will be reviewed by an Honorlock support representative. Violations will be reported to me and I will confirm by reviewing the recording. Egregious indications of cheating such as receiving assistance or using your cellphone or other technology during the exam will be treated as violations of the university’s academic honesty policies and will be submitted to the University for discipline. Refer to the Academic Honestly Policy survey you completed for more information. Other examples of violations are included below (partial list).
