A patient presents with a painful red eye. The pain came on through the night and is unrelenting. THe pain is decscribed as a deep, severe, aching pain. On examination the central vision is decreased. The conjunctiva is clear. There is ciliary injection noted. The pupil is fixed and dilated. The cornea is steamy/cloudy looking.
