There are No extensions for any Lecture assignment or Lecture Exam for any reason; completion Before 12pm means before Noon (i.e. in the morning, NOT before midnight). For students waiting for textbooks, financial, etc., Connect has a 2-week Complimentary Temporary Access until their materials arrive [call (800) 331-5094]. Most students prefer going thru McGraw Hill Connect than thru the Bookstore unless there is a financial aid restriction. Almost all prior students, 100% completed All SmartBook assignments (10% of Grade = Unit Exam); it is the easiest, guaranteed 100% Unit Exam equivalent grade & is mandatory for Lecture Attendance Verification!

Online learning requires planning and contingency plans for unforeseen events. Don’t wait until the last day; technical issues don’t warrant extensions. Computer malfunctions, work schedules & personal/family problems are not reasons for extensions. We recommend completing all exams & assignments at least 48 hours before the deadline. During exams keep face in the webcam, Don’t talk, & turn off all electronic devices. Electronic devices should not be with the student. Any violation of these rules will result in a zero grade for the exam. Each exam and assignment is available for 1 week, providing ample time to address any concerns. Recently, students had to take a lower-level class [i.e. BIO 112] prior to this advanced B210 class improving their grade point & future success. If > 1 year since taking a lower-level class, retake that lower-level class Before taking this advanced 200 level class.  Most students who have not earned at least a B grade in a lower-level BIO class fail this class. The earlier a student transfers to the appropriate class, the better the outcome.

In order to pass any online class, especially this class, it is essential to completely read & follow all the instructions/updates daily on the Homepage News. Students who don’t carefully check/read daily the Lecture & Lab D2L Homepage News information/updates (News changes at least once a week) & Exam Tips (i.e. do all the Optional Connect questions prior to taking your exam) most often get off to a poor start and fail the class.
