The painted figures here are mostly clothed in long, colorful robes, in various states of sitting, standing, or sprawling. The two central figures are the focal point, framed by an arched doorway. All architectural lines that recede into space point directly towards these bearded men in their red and blue robes. Most of the crowd seems animated, engaged in a plethora of activities. The building interior contains many statues and sculptures, though none of the figures appear to be focused on them.

The same carving serves as trim for her dress and long robes. She holds a grown man in her lap who is dressed only in a simple cloth around his hips and thighs, as well as a pointy, crown-like object on his head. His head is bent back at a sharp angle and he looks to be in terrible pain. Carvings on his hands, feet, and chest suggest deep, violent puncture wounds. Red paint trickles down his arms and legs as if coming from his wounds.

Long, curly, reddish-blonde hair spills over her right shoulder. In her right hand she clutches flowers, while her left hand conceals her nether region. At her feet is a contentedly napping puppy. In the background we see two figures wearing dresses, one kneeling and bent over an open chest and one standing over her. Clearly they are working in the background while the main subject poses in the foreground. The decorations and architectural details are rich and intricate.

What was the function of this structure?© James G. Howes In this view, we see that the lower colonnade supports a deep terrace. Near the back of the terrace are two more stacked colonnades. A ramp leads from the ground up to the broad terrace, and then another ramp leads up to the level between the stacked colonnades. A sandy ground stretches in front of the temple. Rocky hills rise to each side, and the temple is backed with steep, vertical cliffs.
