I do not have anything in my ears, my microphone is ON and I am not wearing smart glasses. 1. Right now – turn your head towards your external camera and show me that you have nothing in either ear (like in the image above). If you have long hair that obstructs the view of your ears, tie it back for the duration of the exam. 2. Right now – clearly state your FULL NAME OUTLOUD to confirm that your microphone is on and working. 3. Right now – if you are wearing glasses, please remove them and hold them up to the camera. Smart glasses are not permitted during the exam, you must replace them with standard glasses before continuing. By proceeding, you confirm that you did ALL of the above actions, and understand that if you did not, you will receive a 0 on the exam.

What does the collocation contributing factor mean in the context of Paragraph 1?(1)        Last July, Ioane Teitiota, a man from the low-lying Pacific island nation of Kiribati, was deported from New Zealand after trying to become the world’s first legally recognized climate refugee1. With the industrialized world struggling to absorb a flood of migrants and refugees from Syria, Africa, and Latin America, climate refugees may already number in the millions. In 2008 alone, 20 million people were displaced because of rising sea levels, desertification, and flooding, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Many more have fled drought, war, or starvation in which climate change may have been a contributing factor.

Over the summer, a friend asks you what classes you took this semester. When you tell them that you took a class on the Hebrew Bible, they ask “Well, what’s it all about?”  Write a response to your friend that answers the following: First, in 2-3 sentences, explain to them what the Hebrew Bible is. What kind of genres are contained within it, and what are some examples of those genres? Are the books sequenced randomly, or is there an order or system of organization? And who were the Israelites, anyway? Second, tell your friend about TWO stories that we read that you think are most important for understanding who the Israelites were and/or their beliefs. Describe the stories and explain their significance. You do not need to quote passages or include their citations (although that would be very impressive), but you do need to give enough of a summary for your friend to understand what happened AND explain the significance of each story. IMPORTANT: Your answer should be academic in nature. You are not trying to convert your friend to a particular belief system. IMPORTANT: You may use first person language, but you must write in full sentences (no bullet points/outline).
