During his two terms in the Oval Office, William (Bill) Jefferson Clinton, 42nd President of the United States, engineered an economic turnaround domestically, impacted foreign policy in conflicted regions, and reenergized the Democratic Party. But President Clinton will also be remembered for the investigations and scandals that ultimately led to his impeachment, although he was eventually acquitted of the charges. President Clinton is well-known for living life to the fullest. In 2004, at age 58, Clinton underwent an emergency quadruple bypass surgery. After recovering, he modified his diet by eating fewer calories and cholesterol-laden foods. These moderate changes were not enough, however. In 2010, Clinton experienced chest pain and underwent another surgery to insert two stents in his coronary arteries. He is now primarily a vegetarian, but does occasionally eat fish and lean protein.
