Welcome! This assessment is designed to measure not only what you know, but also how well you can teach that knowledge to someone else. Before you begin, make sure you are using the Google Chrome browser, Honorlock is enabled, and your camera and microphone are working properly. When you are ready, click Next to begin. You will receive one question at a time. For each question, you will see a space where you may type a few notes if you wish. This space is optional and is intended only to help you briefly organize your thoughts before recording your response. You may not use outside notes, websites, AI tools, textbooks, or any other resources while answering. Once you begin your response, you should answer from your own understanding. Reading from notes or another source, frequently looking away from the camera, or long periods of hesitation while searching for an answer may indicate that you are relying on outside resources rather than your own knowledge and may affect the score you earn on this assessment. When you are ready to answer, look directly into your camera lens and teach your response as though you are explaining the concept to another person. Your score will be based on the depth and accuracy of your knowledge, your confidence and fluency, your ability to clearly explain concepts in your own words, and your effective use of the vocabulary, terminology, and language discussed in class or throughout the unit. Feel free to impress me by incorporating examples, terminology, and connections from our class discussions. Your goal is not simply to give the correct answer. I am looking for you to demonstrate that you truly understand the material well enough to teach it to someone else.

Practice Question (This should be easy) Imagine that you are having lunch with a friend. During the conversation, your friend asks: “What’s your favorite food?” Look directly into the camera and answer your friend’s question as though you were having a real conversation. Tell your friend what your favorite food is and explain why it is your favorite. Describe what you like about it, what makes it special to you, and share a few examples or experiences that help explain your answer. Imagine your friend has never tried that food before. Your goal is to help them understand why you enjoy it so much. Remember: The notes section below is optional. You are welcome to use it to briefly organize your thoughts before recording your response, but you are not required to type anything. Your score will be based on your ability to look directly into the camera, speak confidently, and teach your answer in your own words. Reading from notes or other sources, frequently looking away from the camera, or relying on written responses instead of your own understanding will affect the score you earn.
