B2{"versiоn":"1.1","mаth":"B2"} is аn аpiarist's dream! They manufacture everything that a beekeeper might want. Their newest prоduct is a miniature RFID that can be attached tо the Queen. This will help when the queen dies or mates or when the hive prepares to swarm. It's expensive and customer demand is unknown. It does have the potential to be highly profitable. Unfortunately, B2 has had difficulties finding a supplier of the miniature electronics needed to make this RFID. Bees dance to share information about the direction and distance of nectar and pollen yielding flowers. This 'waggle dance' provides information about the health of the hive. B2 has a miniature camera which is hooked up to a computer and can interpret this dance. Obviously, these dances vary considerably, and the software must be programmed accordingly. Fortunately, the camera and computer are off-the-shelf models. The hives that B2 sells include special models that look like tiny houses or farm buildings. These are really popular. The parts and materials to make these special models are hard to find. B2 has only two suppliers but both are having financial and manufacturing difficulties and may not continue in business. Of course, there are customers who come into the B2 store simply to buy honey. B2 has their own hives and sells jars of honey from their own gardens as well as from some of their beekeeping customers. How should B2 manage the supply chains for these four products? Explain your answers in terms of upstream and downstream uncertainty.
