Our textbook, The Family, references a 2005 book by Marquardt and the finding that two-thirds of children attending church at the time their parents divorced said that no one, neither clergy nor members of the church, reached out to help them.  Some time has passed since this book was published and since the survey was completed. Consider how you would obtain current data for this. Tell me about a study you would do to get this data now. Include specifics like: what is your main survey question, would you have other follow-up questions, how many surveys would you ideally like to collect, how many churches would you approach for data, what denominations of churches would you approach and why might that be important, would you collect data with online surveys or would you rather talk to people in person, etc. This is a 6 point question. You do not have to write books on this topic or spend a great deal of time on it, just answer this thoughtfully and do your best to demonstrate some knowledge about how good psychological data is obtained.

Our textbook, The Family, references a 2005 book by Marquardt and the finding that two-thirds of children attending church at the time their parents divorced said that no one, neither clergy nor members of the church, reached out to help them.  Some time has passed since this book was published and since the survey was completed. Do you think that this remains true now: that a majority of children attending church during a time when their parents are divorcing do not receive offers of help by clergy or church members? Do you think anything may have changed or would you expect it to be the same? Explain your answer.
