As yоu might imаgine, аlmоst аll writing classes have a cheating prоblem. Thanks to generative AI, it's just too easy for students to have a dumb algorithm write for them. They do not realize how detrimental this choice is to themselves, to their classmates, to their families and communities, or to the planet. (Or they don't care about these things in the stress of the moment.) I have already completely changed this course as a result. You're not graded on grammar, and I emphasize authenticity over perfection in every piece of writing. I don't want anyone to feel pressured to write "better" than they naturally do at the sentence level; my concern is that you do the work and learn the deeper skills of thinking and self reflection. I have continuously emphasized this policy, yet you have classmates who are no longer here because they cheated anyway.
