When tаking аn оnline test in this clаss, Hоnоrlock proctoring requires a front facing and a side facing camera. The front facing camera may be a built-in camera or a USB external webcam. The side facing camera may be a USB external camera or a cell phone camera. The Course syllabus/First Day Handout provides step-by-step instructions for taking a test. Here are the test guidelines. Acceptable Placement for Primary Webcam and Side Angle Camera Primary Webcam (either USB external or built-in) ·       Student's face and upper body must remain clearly visible throughout the exam. ·       Webcam and microphone must remain enabled. ·       Student must remain in the testing area and within the camera's view. ·       The primary camera must not be covered, disabled, or intentionally obstructed. Side Angle camera (Sidecam) (either USB external or phone) ·       Honorlock Mobile Application is required. ·       Position the Sidecam according to Honorlock's setup instructions. ·       The Sidecam must provide a clear side view of the student and testing workspace, including the student's hands, scratch paper, and computer. ·       I must be able to see the student actively writing and working on the scratch paper during the exam. Position the Sidecam close enough and at an appropriate angle for the paper and writing activity to be clearly visible. ·       Once the exam begins, the Sidecam must remain in position and unobstructed throughout the exam. ·       A phone being used as the Sidecam is an authorized proctoring device only. ·       The student may not use the Sidecam phone for texting, calls, apps, internet searches, calculator use, photographs, or any other purpose unrelated to Honorlock proctoring. NOTE: If I cannot see you (from the waist up) and your workspace during the entire exam, I reserve the right to assign a zero for your test grade. Computer and Internet First and foremost, make sure you have a reliable Internet resource! Second, make sure your computer is fully charged (or plugged in). Third, exams must be taken on a PC or Mac computer (NOT on a ChromeBook or iPad). Allowable Items in Workspace during Exam - Your testing workspace should be clear of all materials except those specifically permitted for the exam. Allowed: ·       A writing utensil ·       1 sheet of blank paper only (no spirals, notebooks, folders, or pre-written material) ·       The computer being used to take the exam ·       A cell phone only if it is being used as the Honorlock Sidecam/secondary camera ·       Any other item specifically authorized by your professor Not Allowed: ·       Physical calculators. An on-screen calculator is provided on screen. If you cannot find it, it is your responsibility to contact the on screen proctor. ·       Notes, textbooks, folders, notebooks, formula sheets, or other reference materials unless specifically authorized ·       Additional electronic devices, including tablets, smartwatches, or additional computers or monitors. ·       Cell phones unless the phone is actively being used as the Honorlock Sidecam ·       AI tools, unauthorized websites/apps, or other outside resources Things to Remember Take the test at a desk, table, or other flat surface. Do not take the test while sitting or lying in bed. Find a quiet, private location. No other person should be in the testing room. Do not wear headphones, AirPods, earbuds, or other listening devices. Your ears should be visible. Do not wear a hat, hood, sunglasses, or anything else that unnecessarily obstructs your face and ears. Make sure your computer is charged or plugged in and that you have a reliable internet connection. Complete any required Honorlock software installation, updates, and system checks before test day. Do not wait until you are ready to begin the test. Complete all Honorlock setup procedures exactly as prompted, including any required Workspace Scan Photo and Sidecam setup. COMMUNICATE with me. If something unusual occurs during your test, document and explain what happened. I should not encounter something unexpected while reviewing your proctored session without an explanation. Honorlock proctors may communicate with you or intervene during the test, but Honorlock does not determine your course grade or make the final academic-integrity determination. I do. Technical problems do not automatically mean that you have violated a course policy. However, you should communicate problems promptly and follow any instructions provided by Honorlock. Additional DO's & DON'Ts DO use a supported computer with a working camera and microphone. If you do not have the necessary equipment, make arrangements well before the test. DO install and use all Honorlock software required for the test, including the browser extension and/or desktop application when prompted. DO complete the Workspace Scan Photo and any other pre-test verification procedures accurately and completely. DO maintain the required primary-camera and Sidecam views throughout the test. DO show all mathematical work on your scratch paper as you complete each problem. DO explain unusual circumstances that occur during the test, such as an unavoidable interruption, unexpected background noise, technical problem, or need to leave the testing area. DON'T access books, notes, unauthorized websites, AI tools, phone calculators, calculators, or any other unauthorized resource. DON'T access or handle a cell phone during the test unless it is being used as the Honorlock Sidecam or you are specifically instructed to do so by Honorlock. DON'T use a Sidecam phone for texting, calls, notifications, apps, internet searches, calculations, photographs, or any purpose unrelated to Honorlock proctoring. Set your phone to Autolock Display and Brightness and to Do Not Disturb mode. DON'T intentionally move, cover, disconnect, obstruct, or disable a required camera or other Honorlock proctoring feature. I have read the above and am fully aware to abide with the expectations of using Honorlock proctoring guidelines listed above. I also acknowledge that I am expected to take the exam on the days and time indicated in the course calendar.
