Rооm Scаn Requirements Befоre beginning eаch exаm, Honorlock will ask you to complete a room scan. Students will not be permitted to take remotely proctored exams unless they are willing to conduct a room scan. By choosing to take the exam remotely, the student is consenting to the room scan of the area in which they take the exam. This scan should be done slowly enough so the instructor can verify that the following exam space requirements are satisfied. No other calculator is allowed. Students must complete each exam on their own, without any help from another person or device. All other resources and electronic devices should be far out of reach, in a different room, while taking the exam. This includes, but is not limited to, cell phones, calculators, tablets, iPads, e-readers, headphones, earbuds, and smartwatches. Failure to do so may result in a loss of points on the exam and other possible disciplinary action, even if the device is not being used. Cоmputer Requirements All exаms fоr this cоurse will be аdministered through Cаnvas and proctored by Honorlock, which is an online proctoring service that uses a combination of AI and live proctors to monitor students during online exams. When using Honorlock, you will be prompted to download the Honorlock Desktop App and the Honorlock Chrome Extension, both of which require the use of the Google Chrome WebBrowser running on a Windows or Mac computer. Chromebooks and iPads are not supported and cannot be used to take exams for this course. The Desktop App and Chrome Extension can be removed from your computer once you complete each exam. To verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for running Honorlock, vist Honorlock supportLinks to an external site. and scroll about half way down the page until you see the Minimum Requirements section and then click on the Run System Check and Test Internet Speed links. A stable internet connection is required while taking each exam. If you plan to use a laptop, it's your responsibility to make sure it's fully charged and plugged in before beginning an exam. Only one monitor may be in use while taking an exam. All other monitors must be disconnected while using Honorlock.
