A reseаrcher is interested in twо methоds оf note-tаking strаtegies and the effect of these methods on the overall GPAs of college freshmen. She believes that students that score high in self-efficacy (a measure of one's belief in their capacity to perform well in a given situation, like college) would benefit from the Outline Method of note-taking because this method allows students to decide which information they think is important and add as much or as little detail as they think is necessary. The researcher believes that students who score low in self-efficacy would benefit most from the Cornell Method, in which students have a highly-structured set of prompts and a requirement to rephrase information, which has been shown to boost confidence. After obtaining a sample of college freshmen, she administers an inventory to assess their self-efficacy and identifies 30 students that are high in self-efficacy and 30 students that are low in self-efficacy. She randomly assigns an equal number students to each of three groups, Cornell Method, Outline Method, and a Control condition; therefore, n = 20 for each group (with ten high in self-efficacy and ten low in self-efficacy in each group). During the first month of the Spring semester, individuals in the two note-taking method groups receive daily instruction on the particular method to which they were assigned (Cornell Method or Outline Method), and the Control group received no instruction. Fall and Spring GPAs from all participants are recorded. The overall change in GPA from the Fall to the Spring semester are used to determine level of improvement in GPA. Positive values indicate an increase in GPA and negative values indicate a decrease. It was expected that there would be an increase in GPA from the Fall to the Spring, but the researchers wanted to determine if there was a significant difference in the increase observed among the groups. One factor for this study is note-taking method with three levels, and the second factor is self-efficacy with two levels. A two-way ANOVA was conducted to answer the following research questions: Does self-efficacy influence GPA?Is there an influence of note-taking method on GPA? Is there an interaction between self-efficacy and note-taking method on GPA?   The results are displayed in the matrix of means below and the following source table.         Write a conclusion based on the results. Include all required elements of a conclusion.
