This is the Attendаnce аnd Pаrticipatiоn pоlicies as they appear in the syllabus:Attendance & ParticipatiоnEven though this class does not meet in a physical classroom, you are still expected to attend & participate in class on a regular basis. You are expected to sign into Blackboard, check your messages, read/view the course material, respond to the journals & the discussion boards, & participate in ongoing class discussions. Blackboard allows me to track the number of times you sign in and respond to a message thread – this is how I will be keeping track of your progress. Part of your grade depends upon your participation in the discussion board engaging your peers & responding to prompts and questions I post for you. Engagement is more than a response to someone that says “me too,” or “I agree.” You need to fully respond. I’m not looking for War and Peace, but a further explanation as to why you do or don’t disagree would be nice and keep everyone from having to read through 20 postings of “couldn’t have said it better myself…” At the end of each week, I will put in your course "attendance" by checking to see if you have logged in, looked at the course materials, completed an assignment, etc. You will be marked either Present or Absent based on your performance in the course that week.Click TRUE to acknowledge that you have read & are aware of these policies, & that you agree to abide by them for the duration of the course.
