Dwight wоrked аs а tаxi-driver in the city оf Small Tоwn. One not so unusual evening, he picked up Vic, who needed a ride home from the airport. Vic hopped in the back seat. On the way home, Vic let Dwight know that he didn’t have any money for a tip. Dwight then asked Vic if he had any money at home to give him. Vic replied, “I do have money at home but you’re not getting any of it because you’re just a stupid cab driver”. Dwight became enraged and formed a plan to steal Vic’s money.   Instead of dropping Vic off in front of his home, Dwight accelerated to a high rate of speed and crashed his car through the front wall of Vic’s home. This was only to show Vic that he was serious about getting paid. Dwight didn’t think Vic would get hurt. With his crashed car sitting right in the middle of Vic’s now destroyed kitchen, Dwight looked back at Vic and demanded, “Where’s that money you have in here? . . . I want my tip!” Unbeknownst to Dwight at that moment, Vic had been killed in the crash. Shocked upon discovering that Vic died, Dwight ran from the scene. He was arrested soon after.  Small Town follows the common law (with modern distinctions where applicable). Additionally, you may assume that Dwight actually and proximately caused the death of Vic.
