Online students mаy cоmplete exаms in persоn аt Vernоn College or use YuJa Verity proctoring software. Students who choose to take the exam in person must contact theinstructor to arrange a testing date and time. If the student chooses to complete the exam online, the following requirements must be met:● Students must adhere to all components of the Vernon College Academic Integrity Policy● Students follow all Guidelines for Online Testing● Students must ensure they have the necessary hardware/software fully installed and tested before exams. If a student does not meet any of the above requirements, the student will be required to complete their exams either at Vernon College or another approved testing center. Guidelines for Online Testing ID Check● You must show a government-issued or school photo ID to verify your identity as the test taker. Your ID must be the actual ID and may not be a screen shoton a phone. Technical Issues● If you encounter a technical issue, remain calm and try to resolve it. Please talk into the camera about the issue. I can see your screen and will see the issue.● If you choose to begin your exam within the last hour it is available, and then experience technical difficulties, your exam will not be reopened.● No exams will be reopened due to inadequate charging of laptops! This is your responsibility!!● No exams will be reopened due to an inadequate internet connection! Environment & Behavior● You must be alone in the room during the exam. Voices or the presence of others will result in a grade of zero.● Your microphone must remain on and functional; background music is not permitted.● Camera cannot be obscured.● Do not read questions or answers aloud. Online Testing Requirements for Anatomy & Physiology Test● The room must be well-lit, and your face and upper body must remain visible at all times.● Do not disable facial detection alerts.● Your computer must be placed on a desk or table—not on a bed or couch.● Test takers may not have any covers on their legs.● Your workspace must be completely clear of all materials, including phones, tablets, notes, textbooks, or other resources.● A mirror must be positioned behind and to the side so all workspace is visible for the entire testing session. This is a requirement to verify that their is notelectronics hidden. You will utilize the mirror during the environment scan to verify there is not anything extra on your keyboard.● Suspicious behavior, such as repeatedly looking away from the screen, is not allowed.● Keep your eyes facing forward toward the camera.● No headphones, earbuds, nonreligious headwear, sunglasses, or watches of any kind.● You must be present continuously for the entire assessment session, with no leaving the camera view of the room for any reason.● If you have repeated internet and technical issues, you may be required to complete testing in person at Vernon College. Environment Check Procedures● Use a mirror to show: the edges of your screen & the keyboard area to verify that nothing is taped or hidden● Move your camera slowly to provide a clear 360-degree view of the room.● Show all four corners of the room to confirm that no other people or external monitors are present.● Show the top of your work surface to confirm it is fully cleared.● Show that there is nothing on your lap.● Verify that your microphone works by counting to five out loud or saying “Hello.” Online Testing Requirements for Anatomy & Physiology TestFinal ReminderYou are responsible for following all instructions precisely and maintaining an examenvironment beyond suspicion. Failure to comply may result in:● A grade of zero● A requirement to retake the exam in person● Further disciplinary action in accordance with Vernon College policies Exam recordings may be reviewed at any time throughout the semester. Cases of Confirmed Violation of Academic Integrity:● Student receives a zero on exam/assignment● Student will be required to complete the remaining exams in that class either at Vernon College or another approved testing center. Cases of Suspected Violation of Academic Integrity:● Student will be required to meet with the instructor either in person or in Teams to discuss suspicious activity● Student may be required to repeat the assessment in person● Instructor may require all remaining exams to be administered in person. On Site TestingStudents must schedule a time to take exams at least 24 hours prior to taking the exam.Students will submit a government-issued/school picture ID before the exam.All personal items, including cell phones, will be placed in a locker.
