The Fоurth Cоnjugаtiоn аnd -iō verbs in the Third Conjugаtion Our fourth and final conjugation of verbs are those which take an ī as their theme vowel; the paradigm verb for this conjugation is audiō, audīre, audīvī, audītum, "I hear". In the present indicative and imperative, this conjugation will behave very similarly to the second conjugation (e.g. moneō, monēre), but shares with the third conjugation a future indicative marked by the theme vowel -ē. We will also look at a variant of third conjugation verbs which contain a short -i as its theme vowel (the paradigm for this conjugation subset is capiō, capere, cēpī, captum, "I take"). This shares many traits with third conjugation verbs like agō, agere, but is distinct enough to be worth learning separately. We'll start by looking at the present tense indicative and imperative -- watch this video for more!
