Examples of topic options are the following: 1) Is homework beneficial? 2) Should cell phones be banned in schools? 3) Should students wear uniforms? 4) Is artificial intelligence good for society? 5) Is a college education worth it? Three outside sources must be included. The works cited should have been included on the outline assignment; however, you do NOT have to include it again here. You must use proper quote incorporation and in-text citations. You do not have to color-code this essay according to the information provided in the content development and outline pages. However, having your outline color-coded as you work on your timed essay development can be beneficial because it helps ensure you have certain requirements. Content Development Guidance The introduction paragraph should be a minimum of four sentences. It should begin with a hook statement (an appropriate statistic, an insightful question, or a relevant hypothetical scenario). It then should include important background information for the topic. For example, consider the who? when? what? where? why? and how? relevant to the topic discussed. The introduction should end with a thesis statement, which should be included on your preliminary assignment. The body paragraphs should include the following elements: 1) A topic sentence stating the reason discussed in the specific body paragraph 2) A relevant research quote incorporated according to MLA guidelines 3) A sentence or two elaborating on the meaning or importance of the research included 4) A section discussing the "so what" of the reason; why should readers care about this specific reason? Include an example to illustrate your point. 5) An opposition statement that ends focusing on your initial reason  6) A closing statement The conclusion paragraph should begin with a reworded thesis statement. It then should provide a recap of the main points discussed in the essay. It should end with a clincher, urging readers to consider the topic in some way or take an action.  Your essay must be arranged in five paragraphs and include a minimum of 600 words.
