The fair market value of the collection in 2020 was $16,000. Business property dispositions: Equipment purchased in 2022 for $60,000 is sold for $30,000. Depreciation of $25,000 had been taken prior to the sale. A warehouse building was sold for $120,000. The building was acquired in 2021 at a cost of $100,000. At the moment of the sale the building adjusted basis was $85,000. An unimproved plot of land adjacent to the warehouse that was used as a parking lot was sold for $55,000. The lot was purchased along with the warehouse in 2021 for $30,000. A delivery van is destroyed in an accident. Jenna realizes a gain of $5,000 on the van after the reimbursement from the insurance. She had deducted $4,000 of depreciation on the van prior to the accident; the van was acquired at the end of 2023. She does not intend to replace the van.
