Returning home, Pete parked his car on the street and he and the children ran into the house while glancing anxiously toward Dave’s house. Later that night, Dave snuck over to Pete’s car and cut the brake lines, hoping Pete would have an accident and be taught a lesson. The following morning Pete was afraid to go to work so he stayed home with his children who refused to leave the house. Pete’s sister, Penny, took his car to get the window repaired. While on a highway overpass the brakes failed, the car jumped the guardrail and landed on the street below. Penny was severely injured.
