Hоnоrlоck Extension Requirement аnd Downloаd Instructions This course requires the use of Google Chrome аnd the Honorlock Chrome Extension to proctor our online exams. Honorlock will prevent you from accessing other websites or applications. Technology Requirements to use Honorlock Device: A desktop or laptop computer (tablets, iPads, and mobile phones are not supported for taking the exam). Operating System: Windows 10+, MacOS 10.15+, or ChromeOS Browser: Google Chrome (minimum version 120). You must use Chrome for Honorlock. Honorlock Chrome Extension: Ensure the Honorlock Chrome Extension is installed. You will be prompted to add it if you haven't already. See instructions below. Internet Connection: A stable and reliable internet connection (1.5 Mbps download, 750 Kbps upload). Instructions to install Honorlock Install Google Chrome If not already installed, please download Google Chrome. Do not use Internet Explorer, Firefox, Edge or Safari to access Honorlock; they are not supported. Install the Honorlock extension Navigate to the Honorlock tab in your course or go to honorlock.com/install Agree to Honorlock’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy then click to add the extension. Click Add to Chrome and confirm your selection Honorlock is now enabled on your browser. You only need to do this once. Note: Honorlock will not work if you have the Proctorio extension enabled on your browser. You will need to disable or remove it from your browser before the Honorlock extension is available. Having the extension installed on your browser when not actively in an exam should have no impact on your computer performance. However, if you prefer, you can choose to install and remove the extension before and after each exam. Another option would be to use a separate Chrome Browser profile from your standard profile with the Honorlock extension installed. Beginning a Blackboard Quiz or Exam using Honorlock Close all programs, unless one is used to connect you to the Internet. Close ALL other proctoring tools or security software (e.g., Respondus or Proctorio) if you've used them before. These can interfere with Honorlock’s functionality and may prevent the exam from starting properly. Close all other browser tabs, programs, and notifications before launching the exam (like Zoom, Teams, Discord, Spotify, etc.). Log into Blackboard using your SJC credentials. Navigate to the exam within the course. From there, you will be able to start taking your Honorlock proctored exam by simply following the instructions displayed before the exam.
