Environment:Should there be stricter regulations on carbon emissions?  Society: Why are people so politically divided these days?   The goal of a Rogerian argument is to find a point of agreement with an opposing viewpoint or to find a compromise. Your thesis and the essay will focus on finding that compromise. Support your thesis with at least five academic sources from Calhoun’s library database (these sources will support your position and the opposing viewpoint.  Your essay must have approximately 750 words or more. Your essay should be written in APA documentation style: Title Page, Abstract page, essay text, and a References page. The Title Page, Abstract, and References page do not count toward your page count. Your essay’s actual text must be at least three full pages long. Structure of Essay: ESSAY STRUCTURE: Introduction, opposing position paragraph, context for opposing position paragraph, your position/argument paragraph, context for your position/argument paragraph, and Conclusion. Note that the purpose of a Rogerian argument is to find a compromise or a point of agreement (even if only a minor point) after researching your topic. Your thesis should seek a compromise with those who have an opposing viewpoint.  Make sure to in-text cite (in APA documentation style) in your essay anytime you summarize, paraphrase, refer to a source, or directly quote a source. Treat figures, percentages, and statistics as a direct quotation. In APA documentation style, you must also fully cite all sources on the References page.
