The patient repоrts that at his visit yesterday the doctor told the patient to continue oral antibiotics for another 2 weeks because the surgical wound has been slow to heal and has a slight infection. Antibiotic drugs should be stopped as soon as the symptoms and signs are gone to prevent an infectious agent from becoming resistant to the drug.
