History of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (treated with metformin), recent lower GI bleed, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension. Non-productive, persistent dry cough present. Lung sounds with rales in the bases bilaterally. Shortness of breath with exertion. Skin pale, warm, moist, and dry. Oriented x2, reports nervousness. Last BM this morning with no evidence of frank blood. Voiding with no difficulty. Poor appetite over the last 2 days. 2+ edema to the lower extremities. No nausea or vomiting.
