Fоr eаch оf the twо situаtions below (Situаtions A and B), some animals are consuming a basal diet composed of grass only (characteristics of the grass are described) and other animals are being fed the same grass plus legume (in the proportion described). For each situation, please indicate your expectation of how the grass-only diet and the mixed diet (grass + legume) will differ in terms of intake of the grass and intake of the total diet. For each situation, please explain why this is the case.   Situation A - The basal diet is a C4 grass containing 4% crude protein (note that the maintenance requirement of the animal is 7% crude protein). Animals receiving legume are fed 10 to 20% (by weight) of legume in the diet. Situation B - The basal diet is a C4 grass containing 12% crude protein (note that the maintenance requirement of the animal is 7% crude protein). Animals receiving legume are fed 10 to 20% (by weight) of legume in the diet.
