Shоwing Yоur Wоrkspаce Areа DURING the Exаm--INSTRUCTIONS: After your Workspace Scan and before you start/ launch your exam, make sure you adjust your Webcam to show your workspace area. If you did not do this after the Workspace Scan, please do so NOW. ***You can click on the “Webcam” tab at the bottom right of the computer screen to see the view of your work area with the Webcam.*** See BELOW for tips on how to do this. You may take as much time as needed during the Practice Exam to adjust your computer/Webcam to practice showing your work area. Make sure you take the time during the Practice Exam to figure out how to show your work area so that you do not have issues on an actual graded Exam. Suggestions for making your scratch paper/workspace visible: DESKTOP Computer: Must use an external Webcam Set external Webcam to the side of your computer and workspace. LAPTOP with Built-In Camera: Angle the camera and/or move your camera/laptop forward or to the side so that your hands and scratch paper are in view. Alternately, lifting up your laptop and angling your laptop camera down slightly may allow your hands and scratch paper to be in view. Can I see your workspace with the paper and your hands? Usually moving your laptop further away at an angle will provide you with a proper view. If the above does not work, place your scratch paper on top of a box and slightly off to the side (to allow easier access to the keyboard)—see below. Raising the paper higher allows both the paper and your face to be visible in the camera's view. Note how box elevates your paper higher so that it is line with your laptop camera. It may be difficult to get a camera angle where both the workspace and your face are visible. If that is the case with your setup: Use an external webcam and set it up to the side of your computer and workspace. Webcams are available to check out from HC's libraries for free, or you can purchase one - they are now pretty inexpensive WebCams, Microphones and Mobile HotSpots can be Checked Out from HC Library. I will be specifically looking for your camera setup and that you are showing your workspace area correctly. Points will be awarded based on your ability to show an acceptable view of your workspace area, your face, etc. correctly. You will be notified in the Assignment submission comments if you did NOT successfully pass the PRACTICE EXAM and you will be locked out of Exam #1, until you DO successfully pass. I will indicate the specific errors that you made in your PRACTICE Exam, in the Assignment Comments so please review the comments. If you think you did not show your workspace area adequately during the exam, you may redo the Practice Exam and resubmit. INSTRUCTIONS Type your name in the text box. Check now by looking at the video to make sure I can see your work area with paper and your hands in the video window. You can click on the “Webcam” tab at the bottom right of the computer screen to see the view of your work area with the Webcam. In the Video, are your workspace with the paper and your hands clearly visible? Answer yes or no. If you answered no, try to adjust your camera again to make them visible. You will not be able to take Exam 1 without demonstrating that you can show your workspace. If you still cannot get your camera to adjust to see your workspace area, hands and face clearly, you may need to redo the Practice Exam using a secondary Webcam as a side-angle camera.
