Which is nоt а reаsоn why Mendel studied the gаrden pea?
Belоw is аn аnswer tо the questiоn "Describe in detаil the steps of excitation-contraction coupling and the cross-bridge cycle in skeletal muscle" Identify five errors or omissions. Once they are identified, re-write the sentence or sentences so that they are both correct and complete. NOTE: this is not an accurate or complete answer. please do not use it to study from! The Answer: "Excitation–contraction coupling begins when an action potential travels along the sarcolemma and down the T-tubules, where voltage-gated sodium channels directly open calcium release channels in the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR). The influx of extracellular calcium through these sodium channels triggers a large release of calcium from the SR into the cytosol. The released calcium binds primarily to tropomyosin, causing it to shift away from the myosin-binding sites on actin and thereby exposing those sites for cross-bridge formation. Once exposed, energized myosin heads, which are already bound to ATP, attach to actin to form cross-bridges. The power stroke occurs when ATP binds to the myosin head, causing it to pivot and pull the thin filament toward the center of the sarcomere. ADP binding then leads to detachment of the myosin head from actin, allowing the cycle to repeat as long as calcium and ATP remain available. Relaxation occurs when calcium diffuses out of the cell membrane and the binding sites on actin are re-covered, though the exact mechanisms regulating calcium removal are less central to the process. Overall, excitation–contraction coupling links membrane depolarization to mechanical shortening through coordinated calcium signaling and cyclical cross-bridge interactions."
